Dina Zaman is a Kuala Lumpur–based writer and researcher whose work sits at the intersection of culture, belief, and society. She is the Co-Founder and Advisor-at-Large of IMAN Research, a think tank examining socio-political realities and ground sentiment in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

Over the past two decades, Dina has written widely across media, civil society, and regional outlets, including The Star (Malaysia) and The Jakarta Post. She is also a member of Southeast Asian Women Peacebuilders and the Southeast Asian Network of Civil Society Against Violent Extremism (SEAN-CSO).

Her current creative and research interests explore Malay–Muslim identity, cultural memory, and the East Coast’s lesser-known histories. She works across narrative nonfiction, long-form essays, and research-driven storytelling.

Dina is the author of I Am Muslim, Holy Men, Holy Women, Malayland, and King of the Sea (this was initially published by Silverfish Books in 2012, followed by a republication with three new short stories by Clarity Publishing, 2024).
